Here are the highlights from the February 13th board meeting.
Call to Order
President Tracie Sanchez called the meeting to order at 11:30 AM with the following members present: Jill Ackerman, Paul Crow, Ken Dysert, Dave Frost, Dr. Susan Hubbell, Jed Metzger, Catheryn Sarno, and Paul Swartz. Also present were Treasurer Kevin Bill and Secretary Rita Brown
Secretary’s Report Rita Brown
Ackerman made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 9, 2018, Board Meeting as submitted. Sarno seconded the motion. Board approved.
Attendance report
During the month of January 2018, we had no new members with one resignation and ended the month with 167 members. Attendance was at 42.37%.
President's Report Tracie Sanchez
Allen County Safe Community Campaign
The Campaign is called “Click It or Ticket.” On May 14, 2018, the Campaign Organizers will assemble in front of the Civic Center and are asking Rotarians to join them. Chief Joe Kitchen and the local leader of the State Highway Patrol will speak briefly at the Rotary Meeting.
Lima Locos Rotary Night – Summer 2018
This is the 3rd and final year of a contract signed with the Locos for Rotary Night at the Park. We will need to pick a date for the outing. The Club will receive 50 free tickets and can select someone to sing the National Anthem and throw out the first pitch.
Apollo Tour April 3rd.
The Lima Rotary Club will do a tour of Apollo on April 3, 2018 from 4 - 6:30 PM for 50 people. The Culinary Arts students will serve food. Apollo will be sending invitations for the event. It was suggested golf carts be available for members who would prefer riding.
The Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing will be held June 13th. Andy Wannemacher will head up the event again.

Hubbell made a motion to approve the two slates of candidates as submitted. Ackerman seconded the motion. Board approved.
Joint Board meeting with Foundation March
The two Boards will be meeting on March 13, 2018. Agenda items will include:
- Announcing the New Members elected to the Boards
- Reports from the Presidents of the Foundation and the Board
- Reports from the Treasurers of each Board
- Annual Meeting Preparation and Discussion
- Fund Raisers and Projects
- Agenda Items for the Annual Meeting
The Board recognized the service of former Lima Rotarian Paul Yessenow who passed on February 9, 2018.
President Elect Report Paul Swartz
World Polio Day
The auctions are continuing with every slot on the agenda filled. With President’s Day and the Arts Advocacy Luncheon, the next auction will be March 5th.

4-way speech/essay Jill Ackerman
The Speech Contest is set for March 3, 2018. Plans have been finalized but a few more volunteers are needed.
Reverse Raffle David Frost
Plans are in place for the event with great auction items available. Set up will be done on Friday afternoon February 16, 2018. Nine Rotaract students are attending to help with the event.
New Business Rita Brown
A resignation request was received from Jon Rockhold. Hubbell made a motion to accept the resignation with regret. Metzger seconded the motion. Board approved.
Applications were received from:
- Nate Garlock
- Rhonda McKinley
- Charles Leidy for reinstatement as an active member. Charles resigned in January 2018 but decided to return to active status.
Frost made a motion to approve the applications as submitted. Crow seconded the motion. Board approved.
New Member Orientation will be held on Thursday March 1st for Berlin Carroll II, Joshua Parker, Julie Bassitt, Rhonda McKinley and Nate Garlock.

There being no further business, Sanchez adjourned the meeting at 12:20 PM.
