Here are the board highlights for December 9.

The Board reviewed and approved the minutes of November 11 and November 17, 2014.
Brown stated attendance continues to remain steady in the 45% range, which is up from a year ago at this time.  New member Orientation is scheduled for Thursday December 11, 2014.  Three new members will be welcomed into the club.
The Centennial Committee met December 8, 2014.  The date for the Gala remains firmly committed as Saturday March 21, 2015.  An agenda committee is being formed to determine the format for the evening.   At the Monday December 8, 2014, club meeting, the 3rd banner focusing on Rotary Projects was displayed. A fourth banner focusing on Volunteerism in the Lima Community will be up by the end of December.  The International banner will go up after the first of the year.  Save-the-date communications announcing the March 21, 2015 gala will go out in January.
The $100,000 Investment in our Community committee rolled out the plan to the community with great publicity.  The date had been extended for grant application submission until December 31, 2014.
In 1988, the Lima News produced a 20 page tag or supplement to welcome a Rotary District Conference to Lima.  The supplement included sponsorships and congratulatory messages from local businesses.  As the Lima Club prepares for the 100th anniversary celebration, the Lima News is again willing to produce a tag for the club.  In January members will receive a letter from Baldridge prepared and signed by the Lima News detailing the program.  It will be an opportunity for Club Members to participate in the sponsorships if they choose.

Baldridge stated one of her goals was to begin an Interact Club in the Lima Community.  She approached local Superintendents with Bath Schools Superintendent Dale Lewellen responding favorably.  The Bath School Board will vote to approve the forming of an Interact Club at the Bath High School in January 2015.  The Rotary Club of Lima will sponsor the Bath Interact and local Rotarians will be asked to attend the school student meetings.  If seed money is required for a project, The Rotary Club of Lima will have an open door to a formal request.  The Rotary Club of Lima will have no ongoing financial obligations except possible membership fees.
Baldridge and Membership Chairman, John Ficorilli, did a Membership Presentation to the Lima Young Professionals on November 18.  Baldridge stated several service clubs did presentations that day.   The Lima Rotary Club needs to develop a membership brochure.  Dues for membership in the Lima Rotary Club were higher than the other service clubs.  It will be necessary to show the value of being a member of the Lima Rotary club.
The Christmas Auction will be Monday December 15, 2014.  Phil Hayne and Jay Begg are in charge.  Invitation letters have gone out and currently 65 – 70 are attending.  Committee Auction items continue to come in.  Frost said the committee members are calling members of the club and are keeping a spreadsheet on attendees, donations and contributions.
The International service projects’ funding request is underway.  Letters have gone out to larger corporate potential donors and signup sheets are on the table for smaller contribution levels from membership.
