Frost hopes to sign 100 donors.  Mass emails will be sent to Club Members over the next couple of weeks with details.  Anyone wishing to donate blood may do so now by making an appointment with the Red Cross and indicating it is being donated as part of the Rotary Club Blood Drive.   The Club will be given credit for it.

     D6600 Grant Management Seminar
The District Seminar will be held on February 25, 2017, in Findlay.  In order to be eligible to apply for a grant, a member of the club must attend the seminar.   Frost indicated after attending last year, he met with the Foundation and discussed the importance of the Lima Club’s utilizing the district funds as a piggy back and lean-on with our grants.  Runk agreed to attend this year and to speak with the Foundation to encourage a member of the Foundation to attend with him.  The grant application process has time sensitive dates and attending the seminar is a good use of our time to ensure we are in compliance.

     President Elect Report           Tracie Sanchez
The date for the Reverse Raffle is set for February 18, 2017 at the VMCCC.  Doors will open at 5:30 with appetizers and cash bar.  To start the evening, there will be a complimentary bottle of red and white wine at every table.  Buffet dinner, catered by Lock Sixteen, will start at 6:30, and will include prime rib, chicken breast, sides and dessert.  The raffle will begin immediately following dinner.  Total purse for the evening is $6,000.  Tickets are $100 for the meal and for a chance to win the $1,500 grand prize.  The cost of the meal for guests of ticket holders is $25 but that amount does not include a chance to win the big money.  They are eligible to participate in the side games including bingo, and a Chinese auction with great prize packages, two side boards worth $1,000 each and a 50/50 drawing.  Proceeds will go to the Lima Rotary Foundation to use for new projects Rotary hopes to help fund in the Lima Community.  The raffle is open to the public and members are encouraged to invite friends, relatives and business colleagues for a fun night.  Over the next month, we will have monthly announcements and tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis.  Only 200 tickets are available.  The Board discussed another option of paying $10 at the door to come in and participate in the games.  Members can pick their ticket number if still available.  Jeff Tracy will be the emcee for the evening.  It is not necessary to attend to win!

     Golf Outing 2017
Sanchez indicated we are looking for a Chair and Co-Chair for the upcoming 2017 Rex Perry Golf Outing.  After years of service, Matt Otto may want to step down as chair.  It is time to begin contacting sponsors and making decisions about give-aways.  The event is typically in June – no date has been set at this time.

Lima Young Professionals Dress for Success Funding Request                     Catheryn Sarno
Dress for Success is a nationwide nonprofit for college students who are entering the workforce or for those who are reentering the workforce and need appropriate professional interview wear.  The Dress for Success program offers donated lightly worn suits and professional wear to this group.  The Lima Community does not currently have such an organization and Sarno reached out to the Young Professionals, Tim Sielschott and Jodie Robinson about starting one.  The group was interested and will do a premier a “Suit Up” event on January 26, 2017.  The organization plans to use the Knights of Columbus Hall for the day to hold their event and is asking the Rotary Club to sponsor the $350 for the venue.  The $350 will include our partnership on all marketing for the event and allow us to be a presence in the community and surrounding communities.  At the “Suit Up” workshop on January 26, 2017, they will explain the suit recycling program to the targeted college students or others in the community in need, along with many other interesting topics.  They will be asking the Rotary Club, and the other service clubs, to donate suits, dresses or accessories.  Runk made a motion that the Rotary Club provide the $350 requested at this time for the “Suit Up” workshop event.  Hubbell seconded the motion.  Board approved.  The club will then submit an application to the Lima Rotary Foundation for reimbursement as this request is more appropriately directed to the Foundation.

There being no further business, Crow made a motion to adjourn and Ackerman seconded the motion.  Board approved.

Respectfully submitted,
Rita Brown, Secretary
