Lima Rotary Club celebrates Dave Runk's year as president.
 
With an exchange of pins, David Runk and Dave Frost took part in the traditional transfer of the Lima Rotary Club presidency at the Monday Changing of the Guard.
In the symbolic gesture, Runk, the 2015-2016 president, presented Frost with a president’s pin. Frost, Lima Rotary Club’s 2016-2017 president, presented Runk with a past president’s pin.
Frost thanked Runk for his mentoring and friendship.
“Learning and working under you, preparing with you, it’s been fantastic,” Frost said. “As president of any organization, I’ve had an ideology that you want to leave it better than when you found it. I think you sincerely illustrate that ideology, David, congratulations.”
Runk was toasted by immediate Past President Esther Baldridge and roasted by past president Michael Schoenhofer. They and Frost noted Runk’s achieving the Rotary Presidential Citation and his family’s deep Rotary roots.
Also at the club’s final meeting of the Rotary year:
The Club presented its annual awards, acknowledging outstanding Club, Community, International , Vocational and Youth service.
This year, the awards were presented to:
•    Bob Ruehl and Drew Fields, Rex Perry Club Service Award
•    Tracie Sanchez, John Rudolph Community Service Award
•    Paul Swartz, Harrold Goodnight International Service Award
•    Kathy Williams, Henry Wemmer Vocational Service Award, and
•    Richard Warren, Peter Hulsken Youth Service Award. 
Dick Schroeder presented a Paul Harris fellow award to Elizabeth Brown and recognized Schott Shafer as a Paul Harris fellow plus one, and Esther Baldridge as a Paul Harris fellow plus five.
Jeff Fitzgerald recognized outgoing and incoming Lima Rotary Foundation board members, outgoing foundation President Scott Shafer and incoming president Dale Lewellen. 
Runk noted past presidents, including Dick Riggs, on his 90th birthday; reflected on Art Brinkman and Bill Power, who died this year; honored 40-year-plus members of the Club, including Fred Seelenbinder, who received a watch for his 40th membership year; and recognized outgoing Club board members Esther Baldridge and Harold Bischoff and incoming board members Dr. Susan Hubbell, Jeff Tracy and Paul Swartz.
Jonalee Schmidt noted this year’s Rottery raised more than $33,000 for 32 charities.
 
Dave Frost's father and grandfather, Greg & Frank, who are also Rotarians, attended the Changing of the Guard:
