Our Member Spotlight was Michael Ayers, born in Eugene Oregon.

Michael lived in Norway for many years growing up, and in 1979 went on his first campout. He was hooked, and a lifetime of activity in the Boy Scouts followed. He is an Eagle Scout, his son is an Eagle Scout, and he is a Scout Master.

He graduated from LCC in 1984, and was in the US Navy Band. Went to OSU in Civil Engineering, which of course led to a career in photography. (College works that way, sometimes)

He was in NYC during 9/11 - was named International Photographer of the Year, and has created a unique market niche in making elaborate wedding albums.

Our speaker today was agent Shawn Fox, with the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation. He investigates and builds cases of claimant fraud, which accounts for over 70% of cases. Fraudulent claims with the goal of attaining prescription opiates is at epidemic levels as well, and his department used videotape, internet searches, and plain old-fashioned shoe leather to do his job.

Mr. Fox (what a name for an investigator) outlined an especially heinous case of fraud, and the successful prosecution saved over one million dollars for the taxpayers of Ohio.
