Our member spotlight was Paul Swartz, CEO of Swartz Contracting, grew up in a farming environment. He was born in Virginia - graduated from Elida, and worked as an accountant for about a year before he decided it was not a career he enjoyed. In May, 1987 - he started Swartz Contracting, and spec built houses. Eventually he began to specialize in insurance restoration work in a 10 county area. 
 
Polio Plus update - Over $11,412 was raised last year, and we are on schedule to beat last year's donation level...
 
The Rotary Foundation presented the Special Olympics - Randy Crouse - with $1000. Randy gave us a brief history of his involvement with the Special Olympics and the good works they do in this area...
 
Our speaker today was Kirk Slusher, ODOT District Director for most of northwest Ohio. He supervises over 300 employees, 800 bridges, and over 3200 lane miles of road.
 
A few takeaways from his update...
 
If you are traveling on I-75 to Toledo this summer - he is truly sorry. Expect delays all along the route...
 
Most of I-75 around Lima is complete - but will be finishing up from the Auglaize County Line to 4th street until around October.
 
St. Route 309 to Kenton will be under major construction all summer - take another route...
 
The intersection of 117 and 501 will be redone - adding Left turn lanes...
