Tourism is big business in Allen County.

Tourism is a 54 million dollar business in Allen County, according to Convention & Visitors Bureau Director Christine Pleva. She told us that last yer 1,076 groups booked events in our community that brought 335,000 people to town. She says those numbers don't include individual travelers who may stop here for the night, eat in our restaurants and shop in our stores. The CVB gets its funding from a portion of the lodging tax and uses it to promote our county in both traditional and digital media to attract more visitors to our community, and helps groups organize events here. Their slogan is Lima/Allen County...we like it, you'll love it!
Also at the meeting Phil Osmon got his Polio Plus +1 pin and Paul Yessenow got his Level 8 Polio Plus pin. Thanks for all you do!
Tracie Sanchez announced that Governor Kasich will hold a town hall meeting at Lima Pallet Friday at 2:00. MSNBC will be broadcasting live. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Andy Wannemacher gave us a brief bio during our member spotlight (and he won the Rottery drawing!) and President David won a $500 gift certificate from Simplified Flooring in the Polio Plus auction. Busy day!
