The local girls' basketball season tips off this weekend.

Girls basketball coaches from eight Allen County high schools joined us for the annual Girls Basketball Preview with host Vince Koza. All the coaches are optimistic about their teams' performances this year and are looking forward to molding their players skills. Vince summed it up well when he said, "Allen County has some great players, great coaches, great teams and great schools." Vince will be back next week for the Boys Basketball Preview.
Also at Monday's meeting, Joe Kitchen and Sophie Loser received their blue badges; Jon Rockhold won the $249 Rottery drawing and donated his winnings back to St. Rita's Mercy Club, which is this quarter's charity, Joe Watson encouraged people to volunteer for the Special Needs Christmas Party which is scheduled for December 10; and Jay Begg updated us on this year's Christmas program - the Christmas Auction will not be held this year. Instead, we'll have a reverse raffle on February 18. However, the annual Christmas raffle will be held at our December 12 meeting at which The Ohio State University Lima a cappella group, Carmany, will beperforming. You should have received your raffle tickets in the mail. You can bring your ticket stubs and your raffle money to the meetings on November 28, December 5 & December 12.
