You wouldn't believe the things people used to believe!
 
Don't brush your hair in front of an open window, or the hair will float outside, a bird will get it and weave it into its nest and you'll lose your mind.
That's one of many superstitions people in this area used to believe, according to the always-fascinating Jim Bowsher during part one of his presentation on superstitions. He also showed us how to keep hair from turning gray, how women can overcome shyness and get their man, and how a missing pair of boxing gloves resulted in man being murdered and fed to a shark (!). Part 2 is on Monday, September 21, and you won't want to miss it.

David Grimm provided us with a wrap-up report on the 2015 Allen County Fair. Attendance topped 209,000 this year, and they sold 11,056 tickets to the Lady Antebellum concert which is the largest crowd ever for a fair concert.
