Kids Hope USA is looking for churches to adopt local schools.
Bob Christian provided fellowship, which included a golf story critical of several Rotarian's playing abilities...

Several members received pins for bringing in new members.

Fred Seelenbinder gave us an update on several local club options to raise money for Polio Plus - including our first auction - 2 tickets to Blue Man Group, auctioned off by Jeff Tracy. There will be a quick auction for one item every meeting.

Our program was Doug and Debbie Boquist - speaking on Kids Hope USA. This organization works with local churches to establish one-to-one mentoring programs for at-risk elementary school children. They visit schools weekly - focusing on kids under 3rd grade, as kids who learn to read are 8 times more likely to stay in school.

These programs are specifically designed to honor the church-state separation. The spiritual growth is more pronounced in the volunteer mentor, rather than the child, as helping others often is. over 90% of the children in the program improve in school, and also show reduced behavioral problems.

Good luck to Kids Hope - visit www.kidshopeusa.org for more information.

The Centennial Committee met Monday January 12, 2015 before the Club Meeting.  The agenda for the Centennial has been set and RI speaker, Bruce Goldson from Adrian MI has been scheduled.  Jeff Fitzgerald has agreed to emcee the event and work continues to secure the appearance of the Rotary Boys Choir.  Save the Date notices have gone out to club members and Past Presidents no longer in the club, Past District Governors, Rotary District Officers and selected Government Officials.

Baldridge stated Mike Schoenhofer has agreed to Chair the Nominating Committee for 2015 – 2016.  Jim Osmon and Carol Buettner will also serve on the committee.  Any interested Club Member should contact a member of the Committee for additional information.
