UFOs are real and have visited Lima!
There really are little green men in Area 51 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, according to Tom Bowman. Tom got interested in UFOlogy in 1951 when he first saw the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still. The former Lima Rotary President (96-97) told us that there have been a number of UFO sightings in Lima, including ones on Bowman Road, Shawnee Road and Ft. Amanda. He personally witnessed several flying objects over Bowman Road and another over Ft. Amanda Road. They all had different shapes and colors, but the one thing that they all shared, was that they were hovering motionless in the sky one moment, and gone the next. Tom is part of the organization LAURA - Lima Area UFO Research Associates, which meets on the third Wednesday of every month at New Creation Lutheran Church next to Tom Ahl's. Everyone is welcome to attend.
In other news, the Lima Rotary Club is sponsoring the July 2 concert of the US Army Field Band, The Volunteers, at Faurot Park. The show begins at 7:00pm. Admission is free, so bring your family and a picnic dinner and enjoy some great music and see how wonderful the pavilion looks since it was painted last month. If you'd like to wear a Lima Rotary Club shirt to the concert, contact Tom Biddle for details at tom@tomzenterprises.com or place your order at our regular weekly meeting.
