The Lima Rotary is excited to partner with the West Ohio Community Action Partnership to help address the needs of our homeless population by creating a program that will help connect our homeless population with the resources needed. A single phone number would provide the connection to our local resources, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! Your donation will help us do what it takes to get this much needed service started so that we can END HOMELESSNESS in our community. The funds will also be used to provide public education about connecting members of the homeless community with these services.
We are less than $4,000.00 away from our goal of $15,200.00. Looking for 4 more businesses to step up for $1,000.00 each. Please use this link to donate through our Go Fund Me page, or you can write a check to the Lima Rotary Club and put "Homeless" on the memo line, or we would be glad to bill you.
The Lima Rotary Club's PolioPlus auctions take place in January and February.
This Monday we will be auctioning off a $200 certificate for Log Cabin Traditions. It is good for 8 people for a family style meal in a real log cabin in the Elida area. Needs to be used by December 31. Your winning bids count toward your Paul Harris status. If you would like to contribute an item to the auction, please contact Paul Swartz.
Here are the Bath High School Interact Club's upcoming events:
Friday 1/5 – Dodgeball game at halftime of boys basketball game: staff vs students; & student dodgeball game after boys game. Idea is to promote fun environment for students to hang out, have fun with classmates in a drug free, alcohol free environment.
Friday 1/19– “Military Appreciation Night” – Interact Students will hand out U.S. flags to those attending the boys basketball game that night, one of our Interact Club members will sing the national anthem before the game. Veterans in attendance will be recognized.
Saturday 1/27 – “Father Daughter Dance.” Last year this was our main fundraiser as a club. It was well attended and generated a lot of positive feedback from our community. It’s a big event, with a lot of prep work, but well worth it.
February: we will have a “RED Out” game to benefit the American Heart Association, our annual “Sadie Hawkins” dance and “Sunday Funday” bowling event at Westgate Lanes to raise money for Kyle’s Heart Scholarship (Kyle Hunlockwas aBath grad who died tragically in a work related accident).
The UNOH Rotaract Club brought joy to a local family for Christmas.
Prior to the holiday break, the UNOH Rotaract Club sponsored a family in the Adopt-a-Family program. They spent $500 on a family of 7 (6 kids and a mom). They found toys, clothes, coats, bedding, and toiletries for the family. The also donated a tree to the family with ornaments that were collected on the UNOH campus. The Christmas presents were delivered on December 18th to the mother who was very appreciative of the effort (she made certain to give each person a hug).
Some members of the Rotaract club also assisted with the ringing of the Salvation Army bell on December 16th.
Don't miss the second annual Rotary Reverse Raffle, Saturday, February 17th. It's a fun and exciting night with good friends. The purse is $10,000 and we'll also have a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing. Tickets are just $125 and include one meal. Additional meal tickets are $25. See Jay Begg for tickets.
We are looking for sponsors for our 2018 Social Hours.
The Social Committee created the Social Hour as a way to bring together Rotarians to enjoy fellowship and networking in a casual forum. We typically have between 10 to 20 Rotarians and guests who enjoy the fun hour on the 4th Tuesday of every month. The Social Hour counts towards your Rotary attendance! The meetings have evolved to a platform to which you can teach us about your business, cause, or hobby by becoming a sponsor. As a sponsor, you are agreeing to purchase $40 of appetizers to showcase whatever it is you'd like to showcase for the hour. You can choose your venue! Contact Cat if you'd like to sponsor a Social Hour.
