Construction of the amphitheater is nearly complete and the Lima Rotary Club is excited to announce the grand opening celebration. Tracie Sanchez and Abe Ambroza told us that the lineup is: August 3 - R&B and pop group All 4 One with Naturally 7; August 4 - Lima native and Beach Boy Al Jardine; August 5 - country singer Ian Munsick. Ticket sales will be announced soon. Tracie told us that as soon as the weather improves, work will begin on the park's lawn and landscaping. In the meantime, fundraising continues to pay for the lights and sound for the stage. We also welcomed the winners of the 4-Test Essay contest to Rotary. The first, second and third place winners read their essays about the 4-Way Test and how they apply it to their daily lives and decision making. The winners are: First place: Aryiah Bowie, Liberty Arts Magnet 7th grader, writing about Historically Blue Universities and Colleges Second place: Rose Lawrence, Liberty Arts Magnet 7th grader, writing about cell phones and young people Third place: Jameson Emerick, Liberty Arts Magnet 8th grader, writing about video games Congratulations! We also passed the bucket to help MESA purchase a new truck. Over the two weeks of collections we raised $604! Thank you for your generosity.
