Here are the highlights from the March 17 joint meeting of the Lima Rotary Board, the Lima Rotary Foundation Board and the $100,000 Committee.
 
President Esther Baldridge called the meeting of the Board of Directors, Rotary Foundation Board and The $100,000 Committee to order at 12:05 PM.
 
Anne Decker presented a report from the $100,000 Committee. Twenty-five applications were received and reviewed.  The Committee narrowed it down to four finalists: 
·         St. Rita’s Medical Center,
·         Abilities Ball Field,
·         Rhodes State College, and
·         The Veterans Freedom Flag Monument.
 
The finalists each presented their projects to the $100,000 committee on 2/12/15. A survey containing the names and projects of each finalist was distributed at the Lima Rotary Club meeting on 2/23/15. The Centennial Committee then met on 2/26/15 to discuss and review the surveys and determine which finalist would receive the award. Results of the survey indicated a strong preference by club members to one of the projects.
 
After discussion by the Boards and Committee members to review and clarify issues, a motion was made and seconded on the agreed upon project.  Approval was unanimous.  The selected project winner will be unveiled Saturday evening March 21, 2015 during the Centennial Gala.
 
Foundation Treasurer, Jared Walsh presented financial data related to the Foundation Board, noting that the endowment fund contained a balance of 479,237.67. Funding for the 100,000.00 award will be subtracted from the endowment fund. Walsh also distributed the Statement of Receipts and Disbursements by Fund spreadsheet.  Walsh commented on the amount of funds available for Foundation Grants for the funding year.
Board Treasurer, Cheryl Lawson presented the Lima Rotary Club Financial Statements, February 28, 2015 packet to those present. Lawson reviewed the Statement of Revenue and Expense and there was discussion concerning Aging Summary information.  Board members will follow-up with those in arrears.  Schmidt moved to accept the financial reports from Walsh and Lawson, Warren seconded, approved.
     
The Centennial Committee met Monday March 16, 2015.  At this time 172 reservations have been made for the Gala.  The Logistics Team, led by Dave Collins, will be working on both Thursday March 19 and Friday March 20, 2015 on set-up and display.
The 419 will be featuring stories on the 100th anniversary of the Lima Rotary Club on Thursday March 19, 2015.  Bus stop posters will be placed in five locations during the month of April.  All print products have been finalized and ordered.
 
The District Conference is set for April 15 – 17th at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio.  $100 will be paid toward the cost for non-Board members who wish to attend. 
 
The nominating committee of Mike Schoenhofer, Jim Osmon and Carol Buettner presented the following slate of candidates for election to the Board of Directors for the term of July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2018.  Candidates include:  Tracie Sanchez, Paul Crow, Annette Swisher, Dean Wittwer, John Ficcorilli and Jill Ackerman.  All candidates are willing to be elected to officer status with the exception of Jill Ackerman.  The slate of candidates will be presented to the membership for vote with three being elected to each serve a three year term.
                             
David Runk stated the Spring Blood Clinic will be held on Saturday May 2nd.

·         Greg Ratliff
The Board accepted with regret the resignation of: 
·         Amanda Miller.
 
There being no further business, Richard Warren made a motion to adjourn at 1:15 PM.  Bob Fett seconded the motion.  Board approved.  The next meeting will be Tuesday April 14, 2015.
