The Lima Rotary Club is considering hosting an exchange student next year.

Ladies and gentlemen,

At our last Rotary Board meeting, the board voted to investigate and fund the Rotary Youth Exchange program for the 2016-17 school year.  This is an exciting development as it ties in with our effort to not only support the Bath Interact Club, but also the desire to form additional Interact Clubs at other schools represented within our club.  As you know, we’re also exploring the creation of a Rotaract Club on at least one of the local college campuses.

The Club’s investment in supporting a possible In-Bound student is expected to be $2,000 or less for the entire school year.  But, over the next few months at least one host home needs to be identified and two (or three) would be even better.  The host home does not need to be a Rotarian family.  If you, your family or someone you know would be interested in participating in this exciting program, please let me know.

The Out-Bound program is also a possibility and our club’s investment for this portion of the Youth Exchange program would actually be almost nothing!  (We might want to contribute something such as a “scholarship” for the student planning to go abroad.)

So, please consider this excellent opportunity for your family or perhaps talk to others within the community who would enjoy this type of cultural exchange.

Following is an email from the District Youth ‘Exchange Chair which may provide some additional illumination.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
