Here are the highlights from the October 14 board meeting.
Call to Order Russ Decker
President Russ Decker called the meeting to order at 11:33 A.M. with the following board members present: Russ Decker, Richard Warren, Craig Kupferberg, Aaron McLaurine, Demi Burden, Jennifer Mason and Chip Bullock. Also, Secretary Anne Decker and bookkeeper Amy Ricker were present.

Approval of the September 9, 2025 Board Meeting Minutes
McLaurine made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 9, 2025 board meeting. Burden seconded the motion. Board approved.
Attendance Report for September 2025
No new members joined the club and two members resigned in September. September attendance was 38.851%. The month ended with 134 active members and 3 honorary members.

PolioPlus Campaign
More than $2,500 of the club’s $3,000 goal has been raised. Raffle winners for those who donated will be announced at the October 20 meeting. Russ Decker will speak with the local Dunkin Donuts owner about participating in Dunkin’s national campaign to eradicate polio.

Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing
Invoices are still outstanding for the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing held on August 22. It is estimated that the outing raised approximately $30,000 for the club’s scholarship fund.

Holiday Home Tour
Volunteers are being sought in for the Holiday Home Tour on December 7. Russ Decker is still trying to secure one more florist to help decorate the participating homes. Burden made a motion to approve the purchase of 5 $150 gift cards for the participating homeowners and to approve hosting a dinner at Shawnee Country Club on October 28 for the homeowners. Mason seconded the motion. Board approved.

Mini Pavilion Update
The slab is poured for the mini pavilion being built at Safety City. The club is participating in Safety City Trick or Treat on October 25. Burden, Tim Sielschott and members of Interact will be there to pass out treats on behalf of the club.

Chip Bullock has been reviewing the club’s demographics to help with new member recruitment.

Burden made a motion to offer graduates of Allen Lima Leadership a $100 per quarter discount on their dues for one year if they join the Lima Rotary Club within two years of graduating from ALL. Kupferberg seconded the motion. Board approved. Russ Decker will meet with ALL Director Matt Childers to implement the plan.
Treasurer’s Report Amy Ricker
Ricker shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through September 30, 2025 is $31,005.52.00. Total expenses are $34,002.62. Net loss is ($2,997.10).
Kupferberg made a motion to approve the September treasurer’s report. Burden seconded the motion. Board approved.
