Here are the highlights from the November 11 board meeting.
Call to Order Russ Decker
President Russ Decker called the meeting to order at 11:35 A.M. with the following board members present: Russ Decker, Richard Warren, Craig Kupferberg, Aaron McLaurine, Jennifer Mason and Berlin Carroll. Also, Secretary Anne Decker and Treasurer Jason Bice were present.

Approval of the October 14, 2025 Board Meeting Minutes
Kupferberg made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 14, 2025 board meeting. Carroll seconded the motion. Board approved.
Attendance Report for October 2025
No new members joined the club and three members resigned in October. October attendance was 36.267%. The month ended with 133 active members and 3 honorary members.

Holiday Home Tour
Tickets are on sale for the Holiday Home Tour on December 7 and volunteers are being sought to man the houses. Advertising will run in The Lima News, on iHeart Media and Your Hometown Stations. Russ Decker is also doing interviews on T-102 and WLIO.

PolioPlus Campaign
Donations are still being collected for the 2025 PolioPlus campaign but the club is expected to exceed its $3,000 goal.

Mini Pavilion Update
Carpentry students at Apollo Career Center are building the mini pavilion that will be installed at Safety City. The club has received the $2,500 grant from District 6600 for the project and Russ Decker invested it in a 90 day CD at Superior Credit Union. At maturity, a separate checking account will be opened for the funds as required by the terms of the grant.

Lima Public Library Books
Board members held a discussion about whether the books the club donates to the children’s section of the Lima Public Library should be funded by the Lima Rotary Club or the Lima Rotary Foundation. Russ Decker will contact Foundation President Troy Elwer to discuss this. Warren made a motion to approve a $500 donation from the club to the library if it is decided that the club should pay for the books. Mason seconded the motion. Board approved.

Russ Decker met with Allen Lima Leadership Director Matt Childers to discuss a partnership between the organizations. The Lima Rotary Club is proposing that ALL graduates receive a $100/quarter discount on their dues for one year if they join the club within 24 months of graduating from ALL. Decker told the board Childers is very receptive to the idea and they will hold further meetings to finalize details.

Kupferberg made a motion to approve up to $200 in supplies for Anne Decker to organize the club’s storage room. McLaurine seconded the motion. Board approved.

Lima Rotary Club Taxes
Tracey Regula at Sielschott, Walsh, Keifer, Regula & Sherer has filed the club’s 2024 taxes. McLaurine made a motion to pay the $915 invoice. Carroll seconded the motion. Board approved.

Chamber of Commerce Membership
Berlin Carroll made a motion to pay the Lima Rotary Club’s 2025 Chamber of Commerce membership dues in the amount of $275. Bice seconded the motion. Board approved.

Lima Locos Sponsorship
McLaurine made a motion to sponsor the Lima Locos’ 2026 season in the amount of $150. Kupferberg seconded the motion. Board approved. The club will receive 50 tickets and our banner will be hung at the ball field.

Treasurer’s Report Jason Bice
Bice shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through October 31, 2025 is $56,345.52. Total expenses are $37,829.86. Net profit is $18,515.66.
Mason made a motion to approve the October treasurer’s report. Carroll seconded the motion. Board approved.
