Here are the highlights from the February 10th board meeting.
Call to Order Russ Decker
President Russ Decker called the meeting to order at 11:33 A.M. with the following board members present: Russ Decker, Craig Kupferberg, Beth Seibert, Richard Warren, Chip Bullock, Berlin Carroll. Also, Secretary Anne Decker, bookkeeper Amy Ricker and Rotary District 6600 Assistant Governor Barney Beckam were present.

Kupferberg made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 13, 2026 board meeting. Seibert seconded the motion. Board approved.
Attendance Report for January 2026
No new members joined the club and two members resigned in January. January attendance was 34.231%. The month ended with 129 active members and 4 honorary members.

Annual Meeting
The Lima Rotary Club’s annual meeting is scheduled for April 20. New board members will be announced at that meeting and the club will recommend projects it wants to fund in the 2026-2027 year.

Amy Ricker is contacting the audit committee to schedule this year’s annual audit of the club’s books.

District 6600 Speech Competition
The Lima Rotary Club is hosting the Rotary District 6600 Speech Competition on April 11 at the Mercy Health GME building. Corey Frazer is chairing the local portion of the event.

Joint Board Meeting
The annual joint meeting of the Lima Rotary Club and Lima Rotary Foundation boards of directors is scheduled for April 14 from 11:30-1:00 at Shawnee Country Club.

Ride For MESA
The annual bike ride for MESA will have an overnight stop in Lima on June 20. Lodging and food are needed for the riders. Lodging will be sought in club members’ homes.

Safety City Mini Pavilion Update
Students at Apollo Career Center are progressing well with the construction of the mini pavilion for Safety City. It is expected to be erected this spring when the weather permits.

Michael Ayers Attending International Conference
Michael Ayers will be attending the RI Convention in Taipei, Taiwan June 13-17. Club bylaws permit the club to provide him with up to $1,500 in funding for the trip. Warren made a motion to approve $1,500 for Ayers’s trip. Kupferberg seconded the motion. Board approved. Warren also suggested the Lima Rotary Foundation be asked to match that amount. Russ Decker will contact Foundation President Troy Elwer and ask for consideration of the funding.

Bath Interact Club Project
Carroll made a motion to approve a $600 donation to the Bath High School Interact Club to pay for a DJ and photobooth at the annual Father Daughter Dance, which is Interact’s largest fundraiser. Seibert seconded the motion. Board approved.

The Rotary District 6600 Conference is April 25 and 25 at Sawmill Creek Resort. The club can assist with expenses for any club member interested in attending.

Treasurer’s Report Amy Ricker
Ricker shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through January 31, 2026 is $88,576.80. Total expenses are $56,701.24. Net profit is $30,875.56.
Kupferberg made a motion to approve the January treasurer’s report. Bullock seconded the motion. Board approved.
Seibert made a motion to transfer the proceeds of the Christmas Extravaganza/Raffle in the amount of $8,661.15 to the Lima Rotary Foundation. Bullock seconded the motion. Board approved.
Kupferberg made a motion to transfer the proceeds of the Holiday Home Tour in the amount of $6,084.59 to the Lima Rotary Foundation. Seibert seconded the motion. Board approved.
Bullock made a motion to transfer the proceeds of the club’s PolioPlus campaign in the amount of $2,618.38 to Rotary International. Kupferberg seconded the motion. Board approved.
A lengthy discussion was held about accounts receivable; members whose dues are in arrears will be contacted.
