Here are the highlights of the July 10th board meeting.
Call to Order                                                                           Paul Swartz
President Swartz called the meeting to order at 11:37AM with the following Board Members present:  Ken Dysert, Peggy Ehora, Jed Metzger, Tracie Sanchez, Catheryn Sarno, Jeff Tracy, Anne Decker and David Runk.  Also present Treasurer Kevin Bill and Secretary Rita Brown.
 
Secretary’s Report Rita Brown
Attendance report                                                     
Brown presented the attendance report for June 2018.  For the year, 22 new members joining the organization and 22 resigned.  Attendance averaged around 45.5% for the year.    The percentage of females in the club increased from 28% - 30% up 2% from last year.   Breakdown of years of service shows: Less than 1 year – 4%;   1 -5 years – 36% ; 5-10 years  14%; 10 – 20 - 24%; 20 plus years – 22%.  Those percentages have remained nearly the same from last year and show a balanced mix of new and longer termed members.
 
President's Report                                                                   Paul Swartz
            District Governor visit on Monday July 30, 2018
Newly appointed District Governor Maris Brenner will visit the Lima Club on Monday July 30, 2018.  A joint meeting will be held with the Rotary Board and the Lima Rotary Foundation before the Club Meeting.
 
Former Members (Retired, Etc.) invited to join the Club for lunch once a quarter
In the Spirit of Goodwill, former club members in good standing will be invited to join the club for lunch once a quarter.  Swartz will send out cards inviting them. The goal is to keep them semi-involved.
 
Officer & Paid Position Succession Plan
New Board Members John Ficorilli, Peggy Ehora and Theresa Schnipke were welcomed to the Board.  Dysert made a motion to appoint Ficorilli to the position of Vice President.  Effective July 1, 2018, Tracie Sanchez became President Ex-Officio, Paul Swartz became President with Ken Dysert named as the Incoming President. In addition, Anne Decker was re-appointed to the Social Media and Marketing position, Amy Ricker as Treasurer’s Clerk , and Rita Brown as Club Secretary each at the rate of $400 a month.  Tracy seconded the motion.  Board approved. 
 
Board Reports
Golf outing                                                                             Ken Dysert
The Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing was held Wednesday June 13, 2018 at Hidden Creek with proceeds designated to benefit the Rotary Scholarship Fund.  Twenty-two teams participated in the event.  Thirteen club members served on the Committee with eight volunteers working at the event. The event raised over $38,500 for Scholarships.
 
Grants                                                                                     David Runk     
Runk reported last year the club received District Grants for the Homeless Project and for Opiate Addiction.
This year, two District Grants will be submitted.  #1 - to redo the Boardwalk in Kendrick Woods in the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District and #2 - for the Amphitheatre to be located in downtown Lima.   District grant money needs to be used in the year it is awarded.    Grant applications are due by August 1st.   
 
Honorary Membership                                                              Catheryn Sarno 
Sarno asked that the Rotary Club consider naming June Miller as an Honorary Member.  June will be given a Certificate and also a Rotary Pin and invited to attend our meetings at her convenience.  Sarno made a motion and Swartz seconded the motion.  Board approved.
 
Treasurer’s Report                                                                  Kevin Bill
Bill stated having 4 -5 members volunteer to be on the Audit Committee.  They will perform a year-end audit with Bill.  Next month Bill will provide a 2018-2019 budget report with Swartz.
 
            Aging Report
Bill discussed the Aging Report.  A few accounts were discussed specifically.  Bill will contact them to discuss payments.  Tracy made a motion to approve the report as submitted and Sanchez seconded the report.  Board approved.
                                                                                     
New Business Rita Brown
Resignations were received from Bob Schulte, Judy Wells, and R. Barry Hardy. Tracy made a motion to accept the resignations with regret.  Bill seconded the motion.  Board approved.
 
New Member Applications were received from:
Anthony Miller, Assistant County Prosecutor, sponsored by Chris Hardesty
Sydni Winkler, Boy Scouts of America, Great Oaks District Executive, sponsored by Jim Mason.  Sarno made a motion to approve the new members and Ehora seconded the motion.  Board approved. 
 
Library Books
Each week, the club’s guest speaker signs a book that we donate to the Children’s section of the Lima Public Library.  Our supply is running low and it is time to order again.  Ehora made a motion to re-order books from the Library in the amount of $500.  That amount will provide books for a period of time close to 18 months.  Dysert seconded the motion.  Board approved.
 
There being no further business, Swartz adjourned the meeting at 1:05 PM.
