Here are the highlights from the October 13 board meeting.
Call to Order  John Ficorilli
Ficorilli called the meeting together at 11: 48 AM with the following members present: Andy Farley, Jeff Fitzgerald, Keith Horner, Theresa Schnipke, Derek Stemen and Andy Wannemacher. Also present were Treasurer Dan Best and Secretary Rita Brown. Carol Buettner attended by phone.

Secretary’s Report   Rita Brown
Attendance report
September ended with Total Membership of 153. The Club has 4 Honorary and 149 Active Members. Attendance for the month was 42.79%. Attendance since July was grown from 28.14% to 42.79% or 14.65%.

President’s Report John Ficorilli
World Polio Day October 19, 2020
To-date, Members have contributed $2600 with $550 of that being raised on-line. An auction will be held on November 9th. The Club will have two speakers for World Polio Day on October 19th. The buckets will be passed for donations after their presentations.
District Governor visit on Monday October 26, 2020
DG Keith Hodkinson will visit the Lima Club on Monday October 26, 2020 at the regular club meeting.
District Grant Updates
Esther Baldridge has submitted a request for a District Grant for funding of the Special All-Abilities Playground. The specific request is for Hand Sanitizing Stations and ADA Accessible Picnic Tables.
Social Meeting Updates
Currently the Social Meetings are held once a month. Stemen indicated the time frame of 5 – 7 PM was very difficult for him. Options discussed included having meetings at alternative times such as a Breakfast Meeting with topics such as a Leadership Minute and Deepening the Networking.
Fall Blood Clinic Cancellation
The Fall Blood Clinic has been cancelled.
West Ohio Food Bank – Staples or Hygiene Products Drive during November
Stemen will speak with CEO Tommie Harner about the needs of the Food Bank. Barrels will be placed at the Club Meetings for members to place their donations of staples and hygiene items.
Salvation Army donation
Ficorilli will reach out to Paul Downing from the Salvation Army to ensure their grant application has been submitted and can be funded in a timely manner.
Rotary Club Christmas Party - December 21, 2020
Andy Farley agreed to be on the Committee again this year. A committee will be formed to plan the details.
Rotary International Club Citation
Ficorilli shared the criteria for the Club Citation. The Board will participate in the needed activities for the Club to accomplish the Citation this year.

Board Reports: Golf Outing wrap-up Andy Wannemacher
Wannemacher indicated the Golf Outing raised $43,000 this year for the Scholarship Fund.
Special Needs Christmas Party Dec 12th Theresa Schnipke
The Party is being organized by Esther Baldridge and her committee. It will have a different format this year. It will be held at Marimor. Students will receive a gift purchased by Rotary Members, a packed lunch or snack and a fruit basket. Members will still be asked to pick up their student and bring them home. Santa will greet the children at the party.
Bell Ringing Dec 5th – Organized by Joe Watson Rita Brown
Watson is currently working with the Salvation Army on the locations. He will have sign-up sheets at the upcoming meetings for those who wish to participate again this year.
Dictionary Distribution Plans - Organized by Dave Cockerell John Ficorilli
The Dictionary Distribution will take place but it will have a different format this year. Plans are still underway.

Treasurer’s Report   Dan Best
Best indicated the 990 IRS Report has been completed and was filed on-time
He reviewed the Balance Sheet with Previous Year Comparison. For this month, the Balance Sheet shows a difference that reflects the proceeds of the Golf Outing. Best will make the arrangements to have the Amount of the Golf Outing proceeds moved to the Foundation for the Scholarship Fund. The Cash Position for next month will reflect the transfer. Best also discussed receivables. They are comparable with dues collected from last year. Stemen made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as submitted. Schnipke seconded the motion. Board approved.

• Dr. Kevin Johnson sponsored by Paul Swartz. He is a Pediatrician with Lima Memorial Hospital.
• Andi Lynn Ostendorf, Huntington Bank Manager Downtown Office.
Fitzgerald made a motion to approved the Membership Applications as submitted. Horner seconded the motion. Board approved.
Resignations
• Heather Jordan, former Branch Manager of the Huntington Downtown Office
• Dr James Nieman, OIO Surgeon
Horner made a motion to accept the two resignations with regret. Wannemacher seconded the motion. Board approved.
There being no further business, Ficorilli adjourned the meeting at 12:59 PM.
