Here are the highlights of the February 9th board meeting.
Call to Order     John Ficorilli
President John called the meeting together at 11:34 AM with the following members present:  Carol Buettner, Peggy Ehora, Andy Farley, Jeff Fitzgerald, Keith Horner, Theresa Schnipke, Derek Semen, Andy Wannemacher and Ken Dysert. Also, Treasurer Dan Best, Secretary Rita Brown and Anne Decker were present.
 
Secretary’s Report          Rita Brown
Brown shared the Attendance Report for January 2021.  The month ended with 148 total members – 4 Honorary and 144 Active Members.  Since July 1st, 14 members resigned and 7 new members have joined – an overall loss of 7.  Attendance is up 1% with the Zoom Meetings.
 
President's Report         John Ficorilli
RI - Rotary Meetings Through the Remainder of the 2020 – 2021 Year
The Lima Rotary Board agreed to offer a Hybrid Option for the Lima Club.  Members will be able to attend Club Meetings both In-Person or on Zoom starting February 22nd.    Meeting formats will be reviewed on a monthly basis. 
Joint Board meeting Tuesday April 13, 2021   
The Lima Rotary Board of Directors and the Lima Rotary Foundation will hold a Joint Board Meeting on Tuesday April 13, 2021.  New Board Members for each Board will be announced at that time. 
Preparation for the Annual Meeting        
According to the Lima Rotary Club ByLaws, the Annual Meeting needs to be held before May 1st.  A quorum of members needs to attend.  Due to delays caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, Ficorilli made a motion to delay the Annual Meeting until Monday May 17th.  Each member will be notified personally through mass eMail.  Details will also be included in the eSpoke.  Dysert seconded the motion.  Board approved.
 
Virtual Reverse Raffle Update
Ficorilli, Farley and Catheryn Sarno are working on plans for a Virtual Reverse Raffle.  The event will be held in March or April 2021.
Strategic Planning Update
Ficorilli will name a committee from members of the Rotary Board and the Foundation Board.  The focus will be on Staying Vibrant and the Direction of the Club going forward.
Social Meeting Updates 
The next Social Meeting will be a brunch held on Sunday February 21st from 11 AM – 2 PM at Old City Prime.  Members and families are encouraged to attend.                          
 
Board Reports              
Candidate selection Update for the Boards          Jeff Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald stated the Slate of Candidates will be finalized by Monday March 9th.  Ficorilli will make an announcement to the Club Members on Monday February 22, 2021.  If anyone is interested in being considered, he or she needs to contact Fitzgerald or Stemen at this time.
 
Polio Plus Fundraising Campaign – Next Steps     Derek and Keith
The goal for this year’s Polio Plus campaign is $5,000.  To-date, $4,000 has been raised.  Ideas currently being considered are a Bake Sale sponsored by Rotaract.  Also, an Apparel Sale and other personalized Lima Rotary Club items are being considered.
 
Request for Jefferson Award Nominations            Derek Stemen
Stemen is currently requesting Club Members propose nominees for the Jefferson Award.  The deadline for nominations is March 17, 2021. 
 
Golf Outing Committee Planning         Andy Wannemacher
Wannemacher stated a date for the Rex Perry Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing has not been finalized but the committee is working on the planning stages at this time.
 
Treasurer Report              Dan Best
Best stated the Quarterly Dues Invoices are out.  They reflect a reduction of $50 per member due to the Club’s cost savings as a result of holding meetings via Zoom.    Semi-annual dues have been paid to RI and also the District MESA Contribution has been paid.  The P & L indicates Revenue and Expenses are both down with meetings held via Zoom.  Net Income is up for the 6-month period of July 2020 – January 2021.
He also reviewed the A/R Aging Summary as of February 4, 2021. 
The Board discussed establishing a Fund for Diversity and Inclusion efforts. Ficorilli will reach out to District Membership Manager, John Hill, to learn if the District has any programs in place addressing the issue.
Ficorilli made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as submitted.  Dysert seconded the motion.  Board approved.

 Legacy Arts Celebration on August 7th
Ficorilli will speak with the Legacy Arts Organization to determine if Rotary could have a tent located at the festivities. 
            Resignations
               Lyman McCluer
         Jacqui Daley-Perrin
Stemen made a motion to approve the resignations of McCluer and Daley-Perrin with regret.  Best seconded the motion.  Board approved.   
                                                                                
There will be no Club Meeting on Monday February 15, 2021 in observance of Presidents’ Day.
 
There being no further business, Ficorilli adjourned the meeting at 12:46 PM.
