Jay Begg Reverse Raffle
Ricker reported that once all monies are collected, the club is expected to have a profit of $6,818 from the Jay Begg Reverse Raffle. It was suggested by Fry and Decker that in the future, instead of having a reverse raffle, we have a regular raffle and sell 400 tickets at a cost of $25 each. One winning ticket would be drawn at a club meeting each month and the winner would receive $100. In November and December the prize would be $500. Winning tickets will be returned to the drawing and will be eligible to win multiple times. Stanford made a motion to go forward with the raffle. Burden seconded the motion. Board approved.

Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing
Wannemacher reported that most major sponsors have been lined up for the August 16 Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing. His committee is currently seeking door prizes. The board agreed to recognize Barb Perry for her and her late husband’s many years of support of the Lima Rotary Club and the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing.

Amphitheater Grand Opening
The grand opening of the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater is scheduled for August 2-6. Events include a children and family day, arts festival, hog roast and nationally-known bands. The Civic Center is not expecting to have a permanent liquor license prior to the grand opening so director Abe Ambroza has asked the Lima Rotary Club if he can apply for a temporary liquor permit under the club’s name. Since the club does not have non-profit status, but the Lima Rotary Foundation does, the permit will have to be in the Foundation’s name. Fry made a motion to encourage the Foundation board to support this request as soon as possible. Regula seconded the motion. Board approved. Foundation President Russ Decker stated that he would call a virtual meeting of the Foundation board to ask for approval.

Change To Lima Rotary Bylaws
Club members have suggested that more than one signature be required on club checks. Stanford made a motion to require two signatures for checks in the amount of $2,500 or greater and to have four authorized signatories: President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary. Fitzgerald seconded the motion. Board approved. The request to amend the club’s bylaws will be taken to the club for a vote at Changing of the Guard on June 26.

Zoom Membership
Stemen and Fry would like to renew the club’s Zoom subscription for use for leadership meetings, board meetings, and special club meetings. Stemen suggested that the club no longer stream its meetings on Zoom to encourage more members to attend in person. Regula made a motion to stop streaming regular meetings on Zoom. Wannemacher seconded the motion. Board approved. Decker will renew the Zoom subscription.
