Here are the highlights of the May 14 board meeting.
Call to Order Demi Burden
President-Elect Demi Burden called the meeting to order at 11:32 A.M. with the following board members present: Demi Burden, Russ Decker, Katy Page, Richard Warren, Tim Stanford and Elizabeth Brown-Ellis. Also, Treasurer Tracey Regula and Secretary Anne Decker were present.

Brown-Ellis made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2024 joint board meeting as submitted. Page seconded the motion. Board approved.
Approval of the April 29, 2024 Annual Meeting Minutes
Russ Decker made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 29, 2024 annual meeting as submitted. Warren seconded the motion. Board approved.
Attendance Report for April 2024
One new member joined the club and one member resigned in April. March attendance was 38.167%. The month ended with 151 active members and 2 honorary members.

Rotary Weekend at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater
The Amphitheater Task Force plans to hold a weekend of entertainment at the end of July/beginning of August each summer entitled Rotary Weekend at the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater. Russ Decker made a motion to approve the use of the Rotary name and the club’s participation for this weekend for a five year period. Page seconded the motion. Board approved.

Allen County Fair Ticket Taking
The Allen County Fair has asked the Lima Rotary Club to provide ticket takers for grandstand events at the 2024 Allen County Fair in exchange for a $1,000 donation to the club. Page made a motion to approve the request. Russ Decker seconded the motion. Board approved.

District Grant For Lima Sign
The City of Lima plans to erect a LIMA sign on Town Square for photo opportunities. The Lima Rotary Club has been asked to help raise money for the sign. Warren made a motion for Burden to continue discussions with the city, to explore applying for a District 6600 grant to help pay for the sign, and to report back to the board. Stanford seconded the motion. Board approved.

Project ElevenFive, a nonprofit organization that provides prosthetics for amputees around the world, asked the Lima Rotary Club for financial support after one of its founders spoke to the club on April 15. The board decided not to make a contribution.

Rotary Night at the Locos
Rotary Night at the Lima Locos will be June 19. Tickets will be available to club members beginning May 20.

Pickleball Tournament
Berlin Carroll has proposed hosting a pickleball tournament as a fundraiser for the Lima Rotary Club. It would be held at the Westside Tennis & Fitness Center. The board gave Carroll permission to proceed with planning and to report back.

Russ Decker announced that four sponsors at $2,500 each have been secured for the Holiday Home Tour on December 1, 2024. Homes are being sought to be part of the tour.

Treasurer’s Report Tracey Regula
Regula shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through April 30, 2024 is $111,933.32. Total expenses are $94,324.83. Net profit is $17,608.4. Stanford moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Brown-Ellis seconded the motion. Board approved.

Resignations
Warren made a motion to approve the resignations of Cindy Endsley, Shanna Barns and Todd Benz with regret. Regula seconded the motion. Board approved.
