Here are the highlights from the November 12 board meeting.
Call to Order                                                                                                               Demi Burden
President Demi Burden called the meeting to order at 11:38 A.M. with the following board members present: Demi Burden, Russ Decker, Jennifer Mason, Jeff Unterbrink, Richard Warren, Cory Frazier and Aaron McLaurine. Also, Treasurer Tracey Regula, bookkeeper Amy Ricker and Secretary Anne Decker were present.
 
Secretary’s Report                                                                                                     Anne Decker
Approval of the October 8, 2024 Board Meeting Minutes
Mason made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 8, 2024 board meeting. Regula seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Attendance Report for October 2024 
Two new members joined the club and three members resigned in October. October attendance was 36.238%. The month ended with 148 active members and 2 honorary members. 
 
President’s Report                                                                                                     Demi Burden
District Governor’s Visit
Rotary District 6600 Governor Tim Ryan attended the Lima Rotary Club meeting on October 28 and met with the boards of the Lima Rotary Club and Lima Rotary Foundation. Governor Ryan encouraged us to use our brag sheet to promote our club’s activities to the community and to the club’s members who might not be aware of all we do. He also is planning four quadrant conferences this year instead of a district conference. Our quadrant’s conference is being planned for May 17, 2025.
 
PolioPlus Campaign
Burden reported that the club has already surpassed its $3,000 PolioPlus goal with the total pledged at $3,188. All donations made in District 6600 will be matched up to $50,000 if made by December 31, 2024. Russ Decker made a motion that the club submit all PolioPlus money by December 31 to take advantage of the match, including pledges that club members have made but not yet paid. Frazier seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Special Needs Christmas Party
The Special Needs Christmas Party has been scheduled for December 7 at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Burden is seeking more gifts to give to the children at the event.
 
Holiday Extravaganza
The Lima Rotary Clubs Holiday Extravaganza is December 16. Co-chairs Russ Decker and Michael Sarno are looking for items for the live and silent auctions.
 
Social
The annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Social has been scheduled for December 18. Details are forthcoming.
 
Chamber of Commerce Invoice
Mason made a motion to pay the Lima Rotary Club’s annual Chamber of Commerce membership in the amount of $260.00.  Regula seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Pickleball Tournament
Burden is tabling the proposed pickleball tournament fundraiser due to difficulties organizing the event. She will send an email to club members asking if anyone is interested in organizing and volunteering for it.
 
Billy Gladwell Fundraiser
Mentalist Billy Gladwell has offered to perform for a fundraiser for the Lima Rotary Club. Burden has turned the event over to the social committee to organize. Details are forthcoming.
 
Beer Barrel Fundraiser
Beer Barrel Pizza has offered to hold a fundraiser for the Lima Rotary Club in which the club would encourage its members and supporters to eat at Beer Barrel on a certain day and the club would receive a 20% donation of the total amount of the club supporters’ receipts on that day. Burden asked if they will make the offer available after the first of the year. She has not yet heard back.

Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing
Unterbrink reported that there are still $1,070 in outstanding invoices, but the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing is expected to raise more than $30,000 for the club’s scholarship fund.
 
Holiday Home Tour
The Holiday Home Tour is scheduled for December 1, 2024. Russ Decker reported that ticket sales are going well and the event is being promoted on Your Hometown Stations, The Lima News and iHeart Media.
 
Treasurer’s Report                                                                                                     Tracey Regula          
Regula shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through October 31, 2024 is $62,535.50. Total expenses are $39, 235.06. Net income is $23,300.44.
Unterbrink made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. Warren seconded the motion. Board approved.
Mason made a motion to release funds from the blood clinic and miscellaneous donations to the club and send them to the Lima Rotary Foundation. Frazier seconded the motion. Board approved.

New Member Applications
New member applications were received Brendan Erwin - District Executive at Scouting America, Katrina Goodwin – Sales Director at Wingate by Wyndham, Mike Baxter – Vice President of Tuttle Construction . Unterbrink made a motion to approve the applications. Regula seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Resignations
Russ Decker made a motion to approve the resignations of Cat Sarno and Jon Rockhold with regret and to offer Rockhold an honorary membership in the Lima Rotary Club. Warren seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Motion To Adjourn
Regula made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mason seconded the motion. Board approved. Burden adjourned the meeting at 12:52 P.M.
