Here are the highlights from this week's board meeting.

The Lima Rotary Club Board of Directors met Tuesday February 11, 2014.  Highlights of the meeting follow.                         
  • Three club members have agreed to be presented for election to the Board of Directors and two are still considering the idea.  Once the slate is in place, ballots will be mailed to the club membership for the selection and approval of three new Directors whose terms will run from 7/1/2014 – 6/30/2017.
 
  • The Annual Meeting will be held on April 28.  The agenda will include:
a.Club Fund Raising Projects. 
b.Local Lima Rotary Club Projects and commitments.
c.Foundation – Centennial celebration – not recurring –
d.By Laws Revision/ Constitution Update from RI
 
·         Esther reported the Membership Committee meeting has been rescheduled for February 19th at 8 AM at Meeting place.  Cindy Wood and Jay Begg with lead the meeting.
The Centennial Committee will be requested to develop a budget for the occasion.  Sharing information with the club members will begin to build momentum for the celebration.
A committee will be developed to meet with community members and non –profits to share information on the Centennial celebration plans as an opportunity to provide updates and to share information.  Ruehl volunteered to be a member of the committee.
President elect Baldridge and Director Ruehl will also form a Rotarian and Non-Rotarian committee to look at the feasibility of building an Abilities Field on the OSU Campus.  Information will be shared at the Annual Meeting.
 
·         The Alternate Meeting will be held Thursday Feb 13 at 7:30 AM at Fresh, 140 N. Main Street, Lima, OH 45801.
 
·         Runk stated he has been in touch with Rotarians in charge of the following Local Club Projects and Fund Raisers. 
Mike Swick, CEO Memorial Hospital, is managing the Spring Blood Clinic.  It will be between March – May 2014.
Matt Otto will manage the Rex Perry Golf Outing.  It will be at Hidden Creek Country Club on 6/18/2014.  He plans to assemble his committee by the end of February.  They will request help with sponsorships.   
 
·         At the District 6600 Conference in May 2014, Best Practices/Project Awards will be shared.  Each club is asked to submit their best practices by March 1, 2014. The goal is for those attending to walk away with best practices they can share with their clubs.  President Schoenhofer and Secretary Brown will work together to provide information on the following from the Lima Club: 
·         The .33 Mile “All People Trail” in Kendrick Woods
·         Lima Rotary Riverwalk
·         Lima Rotary Scholarship Program
·         Blood Clinic
·         Treasurer Deitering shared the Finance Report and the Past Due Account Reports.  Letters will be prepared for those in past due status.    She stated the report shows slow pays coming in.  Two fund raisers and mandatory contributions have contributed to the slow payments.  Osmon made a motion to approve the financial report.  Ruehl seconded.  Board approved.      
 
  • Ruehl made a motion to accept the resignation of Dr. Charles L. Thompson with regret.  Osmon seconded the motion.  Board approved. 
 
The next Board meeting will be held Tuesday March 11 2014.  The meeting was adjourned.
