Generous gifts to The Rotary Foundation help create lasting change in communities both close to home and around the world. Celebrate Rotary Foundation Month in November by engaging with current and prospective donors in your community and by making your own contribution to support our work. Here’s how:- Support our Foundation on Giving Tuesday, 28 November. Make a gift to the Foundation, and share your support on social media. The top clubs in fundraising, participation, and online giving will be featured on My Rotary. Read about last year’s honorees.
- Share our impact. Take time during a club meeting to show members how the Foundation transforms gifts into service projects that advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by fighting disease, improving the quality of education, protecting the environment, alleviating poverty, and doing even more. Invite a Foundation scholarship recipient or a community member who was involved in or benefited from a grant project to speak about the Foundation’s impact on their life.
- Thank our donors. The Foundation will be sending special thank-you messages to donors around the world in November. But your leadership offers a more personal connection and deep understanding of the impact their contributions make. Take a moment to write a thank-you note or recognize donors during a club meeting.

Targeted funds to aid Morocco | As a district leader, you can now support immediate relief efforts for people affected by the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco on 8 September, killing several thousand people, injuring countless more, and destroying an estimated 50,000 homes. The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation have established the Morocco Earthquake Response Fund, which will accept contributions, including District Designated Funds (DDF), until 31 December. It will distribute grants until all funds are allocated or until 21 September 2024. Any money that isn’t used by then will be transferred to the general Disaster Response Fund. Districts that were affected by the earthquake in Morocco can apply for grants to provide items such as water, food, medicine, shelter, and clothing. Learn more about how you can help. |

A committee can lighten your workload | Do you find it hard to get members to take leadership roles because of the time it requires? Here’s an idea for how to help them overcome their reluctance. Explain how committees can ease everybody’s workload by spreading tasks and responsibilities around so no one person is overburdened. When you invite members to be on a committee, create a work plan that breaks down responsibilities for a few broad tasks each quarter. Assign the responsibilities to specific people. Also, communicate clear expectations. This will make it easier to attract members to serve on a committee and will make their work more effective.

Increasing our ability to adapt | Every organization wants to make a greater impact on society, and Rotary is no exception. If we want to be agile and relevant, we need to adapt to be able to lead in a time of accelerating change. Nicki Scott, a change-management consultant and 2022-23 Rotary International vice president, helped develop Rotary’s Action Plan. Read what Scott has to say about the challenges and opportunities of adaptation, and learn how the Action Plan can support your club’s ability to adapt .
