JUNE BOARD HIGHLIGHTS

· In the President Elect’s Report, incoming President Jim Osmon reported directory updates will go out in July to update the new officers page and any that were missed in the May update. The Board motioned to only print as many updates as members who attend meetings and will pick them up. The Board passed a motion to not mail any updates out any longer. Members are also encouraged to keep their information up to date on the www.limarotary.com website since the updates will be revised from that information twice a year.

· Osmon also reported Board members assigned to a particular committee will be calling members to participate in their committees to help fill in any vacancies.

· The Board passed a motion to move all Rotary meetings to the City Club every Monday from July 2, 2012 through June 27, 2014. Along with this change, Milano’s will be configuring a new menu with healthier options and more variety.

· Two new members were approved to join the club – Jill Ackerman, new Lima City Schools Superintendent and Bob Christian with the Lima Symphony. They, along with Kurt Neeper of Superior Federal Credit Union, will go through orientation on June 26 and be inducted into the club on July 2, 2012 barring any objections from the membership.

· The Financial Report was approved but board members are concerned with the increasing number of past due balances. Treasurer Deitering will send out hard copy invoices to all past due members.

· In President Courtney’s last Board Report, he reported that the Leadership team has met with Lima city Schools to discuss plans for the Next Big Project which was paid for by the Rotary Foundation. He also reported that while there was negative feedback about the Chicken Dinner meal to support the Music Factory on May 21, 2012, the board has agreed to open up the possibility to help serve the community. A resolution was introduced as a result of the complaints for such fundraisers. The Board is working to adopt a Conflict Resolution Policy to field complaints and keep a written log of any that come as a result.

· The Board approved a request to move $3000 from the Rotary Club account into the Foundation account so that the Foundation can write a check to MESA. The $3000 was raised from the bike-a-thon held at the Lima Mall last fall.

· The meeting ran a little long. It appeared President Courtney was not ready to end his reign as 2011-2012 Rotary President. Adjournment at 1:30pm.
