Mercy Health donates medical equipment to MESA.
Mercy Health donated 15 cribs, 6 beds and some stretchers to Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad (MESA), a project of Rotary District 6600 which encompasses 58 clubs in Northern Ohio, including the Lima Rotary Club.
In the United States, there’s a huge wealth of usable medical equipment and supplies that are no longer in service. The second-hand surplus in our country is often state-of-the-art to the healing needs of developing countries. MESA collects, sorts, identifies, stores and ships millions of dollars of still-usable medical supplies and equipment to countries around the world that need them. These beds, cribs and stretchers will be on a shipment that is being sent later this month. Thank you to Mercy Health and Ronda Lehman for the generous donation, to Dave Frost for coordinating with MESA, and to Mary Elmquist-Lane for temporary storage!
