The Lima Rotary Club has surpassed the $1 million mark in scholarships!
The Lima Rotary Club presented its quarterly scholarships Monday, bringing the total to more than $1 million since the club began presenting scholarships in 2001. Applicants must live in Allen County and be attending an institute of higher learning in Allen County. They must also be non-traditional students...those who are returning to school as adults. When the program began, scholarships were in the amount of $500. The amount was increased to $750 in 2005 and $1,000 in 2016, where it remains. Including Monday’s awards, the Lima Rotary Club’s scholarship program has presented 1,274 scholarships totaling $1,001,085. The scholarships are funded, in part, by the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing and by members' quarterly contributions. Thank you for your generosity!
