Service Above Self Award recipients to be honored in Melbourne
The RI Board of Directors has selected 101 members to receive the Service Above Self Award for 2022-23. The award, which recognizes members who embody our motto of Service Above Self, is considered the highest honor a member can receive. The recipients will be celebrated at a special reception during the Rotary International Convention.
Sylvia Whitlock Leadership Award winner
Chin Mei Lu, of the Rotary Club of Taipei Taimei, Taiwan, is this year’s winner of Rotary International’s Sylvia Whitlock Leadership Award. The award honors one Rotary member each year who has actively worked to advance women in Rotary. It’s named for Sylvia Whitlock, the first woman to serve as a Rotary club president, who has led change for women around the world.
Lu has spent more than 30 years making an impact through Rotary. From educating girls in Nepal to organizing menstrual hygiene projects in Uganda, she has changed countless lives. Read more about her global approach to advancing women.
