What are you doing to keep Ohio safe?

Kurt Neeper was our Sgt-At-Arms for the meeting, with Dave Cockerell providing Fellowship.

Russ Decker announced a homeland security training day for "Active Shooters in the Workplace" - Monday, July 14th at the VMCC - contact Russ for more info.

Dave Collins introduced our speaker - John Born - Ohio Director of Public Safety. Mr. Born reported that traffic accident deaths are down significantly, and are the lowest in recorded history. (990 last year) This improvement has been the result of enforcement, better emergency care, and forecasting of trouble areas.

Mr. Born wanted every Rotarian to walk away with this message: if you have a smartphone, download the app called "Safer Ohio" - available on both iPhone and Android. The app allows you to summon help automatically in case of an accident, as well as report suspicious activity on the state's highways.
