The Lima Rotary Club holds its annual meeting.
The winner of the Lima Rotary Club's 4-Way Test Speech Contest presented her speech at the club's annual meeting. Madeline Emerick talked about the importance of eliminating the stigma surrounding women's health issues, particularly menstruation, and providing more information about and acceptance of women's health as a way to improve understanding and make resources more available. Great job, Madeline!
During the annual meeting, the winners of the 2023-2024 board seats were announced. Russ Decker, Judge Richard Warren and Katy Page will be joining the Lima Rotary Club board and John Payne, Todd Benz and Troy Elwer will be joining the Lima Rotary Foundation board for three year terms.
Club members also approved six resolutions:
Resolution #1 - 2023-2024 Lima Rotary Fundraising Projects, Goals and Purpose
These are the proposed fundraising projects and the amounts anticipated:
- Rotary Blood Clinics (Spring/Fall) $5,000/$5,000 - Unrestricted
- Jay Begg Reverse Raffle $10,000 - Unrestricted
- Rotary Christmas Raffle & Auction $ 4,000 - Unrestricted
- Rotary Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing $35,000 - Post-Secondary Scholarships
- Rotary Rottery 50/50 Fundraiser $ 1,000 - Designated Charity
- Rotary International Polio Plus Campaign $ 3,000 - RI Polio Plus Fund
- Rotary Members’ Dues for Foundation $ 7,500 - Unrestricted

Resolution #5 – Amendment of Articles of Incorporation
This joint resolution of the Lima Rotary Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and the Rotary Club of Lima, an Ohio nonprofit corporation, is entered into as follows, effective immediately:
Whereas, the Parties desire to provide that any person or organization using the names “Rotary,” Rotary Club” or “Rotary Foundation” in connection with any project, collections or donations, shall have the prior approval in writing of the Board of Directors of either the Lima Rotary Foundation or the Rotary Club of Lima.
