Dash & Joey's - second successful community business investment by Chad Endsley.
Our guest speaker at this week’s Rotary Club meeting was Chad Endsley, a young entrepreneur who is turning out successful business enterprises in Allen County with great contributions to quality of life and health in our community.  Dash and Joey's Gourmet Smoothies and Juices opened in June 2017 on Eastown Road between two other popular food-based stores – Sara’s Sweets and Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn.  Their smoothie and juice recipes are all named after movie titles and are their own creations, made with all-natural ingredients and no added sugar.  Their sales and clients have been double what they expected in these early start-up months and they credit that success to relationships that have been built over the past nine years since they opened Anytime Fitness.  Endsley noted that Lima was ready for a smoothie bar, but it took much hard work, courage, time and money to make this dream come true.

Today the generosity of the club was evidenced when a total of $28,365 was announced in grants and scholarships.  Jeff Fitzgerald, Foundation Chair presented a check to each of the following organizations: Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Programs, DARE, and Soldiers of Honor.  Bill Timmermeister, Scholarship Committee Chair, presented eleven of the twenty-two college and higher learning scholarships that are being awarded this year.  Timmermeister reflected on Rotary’s support in building a stronger workforce and providing financial incentive for nontraditional students.

Aaron McLaurine advanced to Blue Badge status from his new member Red Badge.  Five new members were inducted into the Lima Rotary Club during this jam packed meeting: Joel Mengerink, Rich Dackin, Bob Fricke, Laura Meyer, and Steve Conrad.  Attendance of the previous meeting was reported at 119 members and guests.
