Mercy Health outlines new investments in health care.
Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center has made a number of recent investments in services designed to support families that they believe can have profound impacts on our community. Dr. Matt Owens, Chief Clinical Officer, told us that these include a new birthing center with 24/ 7 OB emergency care and coverage; a pediatric-ready emergency department featuring specialized training, policies and procedures, child-appropriate equipment and supplies; Mercy Tots - a daycare facility for infant-pre-kindergarten children; an adolescent behavioral health center to help young people and their families through challenges; and a women's health center. Mercy Health has approximately 50,000 physician visits, 19,000 hospital admissions and 63,000 emergency room visits each year.
Also Monday, we presented our quarterly scholarships to fourteen non-traditional students who are attending institutes of higher learning in Allen County. Including Monday’s presentation, the program has awarded 1,329 scholarships totaling $1,056,085 since 2001. Thank you for your generosity in contributing to the scholarship fund!
