John Heaphy announces plans for his downtown developments.
Local restauranteur John Heaphy has big plans for his downtown developments. He told us that the building at Spring & Main will house the rebirth of Casa Lu Al restaurant which will be on the first floor and in the basement. Former Casa Lu Al owners John and Tony Venturella were also at the meeting and said they wouldn't trust their name and recipes to anyone but John Heaphy. The second floor of the building will house duckpin bowling, a pinball arcade and bar, and the top floor will house offices for Rudolph Foods. The back of Spring & Main will house a taco restaurant and rooftop patio. John's building at the corner of Elm & Main will house the corporate offices of his Good Food Restaurants. "I have a passion about doing something like this and making a difference in the area." The renovated buildings are expected to open in 2024.
Also at Monday's meeting, we presented our quarterly scholarships to 13 non-traditional students, bringing the total number of scholarship awarded by the club to 1,207, totaling more than $935,000.
