The Walter C. Potts Entrepreneur Center is proving assistance to new and expanding businesses.
Dale Lewellen provided fellowship, but was easy on fining members this week.
Some notes from our president:
The Lima club, founded in 1915 - was responsible for the first Boy Scout Troup in Lima.
The District 6600 conference will be held at Maumee Bay State Park - May 16 -18, 2014. For those members interested in attending - the Lima club will pay $100 towards your conference fee. There is a discount that applies until 3/1 - so go to the following link to register.
There will be a Scotch Whiskey tasting Saturday, March 29th, located at the clubhouse of the Village at Riverwalk. For more information - contact your president or Gary Bright.
March 3rd - there will be a special dual meeting of the Chamber and Rotary. The program will be the Governor's cabinet - focusing on "Building a Stronger Ohio" and the programs available to help businesses grow in our state.
Our speaker today was Jesse Pope, director of the Walter C. Potts Entrepreneurial Training Center. In his almost 3 years of tenure, the number of clients involved has increased substantially. The center is an arm of the Chamber Foundation, and offers advice, training, and support for minority and small business clients wanting to grow or start a new venture. Many programs are offered in conjunction with the Chamber, and vary from initial brainstorming on startup - information on government programs available to help - and often - in depth counseling on making the new business successful.
