There's plenty of fun in store at the Allen County Fair.
The Allen County Fair is nine jam packed days of fun from August 15-23. Fair Manager and Rotarian David Grimm told us that all the traditional grandstand favorites are back including the cheerleading competition, harness racing, demo derby and band show, and the big headliner on August 23 is country superstar Toby Keith. In addition, there's plenty of free entertainment on the midway including a high dive act, a cowboy rope show, Buffo the Clown, and plenty more for all ages. The heart of the fair is the junior fair, with the kids exhibiting livestock, woodworking, sewing, photography, animal care, and much more. Grown ups can get involved too with such entries as photography, antiques, quilts, canning, flowers, vegetables, and even the best casserole. Dave tells us not to forget all the great fair food. He says it's perfectly legal to pig out at the fair, so don't feel guilty about following the corndog you had for lunch with a bag of cotton candy and a milk shake.
