Senator Matt Huffman congratulates the Lima Rotary Club for building the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater.

Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman presented a proclamation to the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, congratulating the club for building the Greater Lima Region Park & Amphitheater. Huffman told us it's a project that will benefit the community for generations and is just one component of many projects underway in downtown Lima.

Huffman also talked about the future of Memorial Hall, calling it his "white whale." "Is it worth saving? That's a hard question. It will take several million dollars to do that. What will we do with Memorial Hall? We need to have a real public discussion about saving Memorial Hall."

Huffman also announced that when his term in the Ohio senate ends next year, he will run for his former position as our state representative. He also gave us an overview of the state's redistricting process.
