The Lima Locos' 2022 season is underway!
The Lima Locos is one of the founding members of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League. General Manager Tim Clark told us that during the Locos' 35 years they have won six championships and have hosted more than 1,000 baseball players from almost every state and several foreign countries. 200 Locos alumni have gone on to play baseball professionally and there are currently four former Locos playing in the major leagues. "The reason we can be here for 35 years is because we have such a wonderful community following. Having 550 people show up on opening night and then the next two nights to bring in another 600+ people is an amazing thing to see. If you haven't been to the ballpark, you need to come. It's just a great experience." Clark thanked the Locos' sponsors, donors and volunteers as well as the local media for all they have done to support the team.
Lima Rotary night at the Locos will be July 14. See Demi if you would like tickets.
Also at Monday's meeting, Scott Neth from Premier Bank was inducted into the Lima Rotary Club. Please make him welcome.
Mike Swick presented a check for $4,245 to the Lima Rotary Foundation, which is the proceeds from the Spring Blood Clinic.
Becky Waggamon encouraged us to support the MESA Bike Tour which is June 19-24. Riders will tour Northwest Ohio to raise money for Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad. Learn more about the tour and contribute here.
