Higher Education Can Take You Far In Life
Fred Seelenbinder spent a few minutes with us reviewing the basics of Rotary and the goals of the club - fining those caught with the wrong answers !
All-in-all - it was a fun, light hearted way of encouraging us to work hard on our club's goal of 200 members, 100% Foundation participation, and 50% attendance.
Our president mentioned the passing of a Lima icon - Tom Francis. His love of baseball, radio, and Lima will be hard to replace...
NEXT WEEK - our meeting will be 11:30 and held at the ACDD Campus on Ada Road -
Jonalee Schmidt introduced our speaker - the current Dean of Bowling Green State University, Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey. Dr. Mazey emphasized the importance of a college education - the challenges of today's funding (a 40% drop in state funding since 1970) - and the new facilities and programs at BGSU. The campus has many graduates living in Lima, and many of them came to the meeting to hear the dean's presentation.
