Monday's meeting was a busy one with the induction of a new member, the presentation of scholarships and program by the Bath High School Interact Club.
The Lima Rotary Club presented its quarterly scholarships Monday. Eight non-traditional students attending institutes of higher learning in Allen County received $1,000 scholarships. Including Monday’s presentation, the program has awarded 1,315 scholarships totaling $1,034,093 since 2001.Scholarships are funded with proceeds from the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing and donations from members. Thank you for your generosity.

We also inducted the newest member of the Lima Rotary Club, Melissa Ricker, Superintendent at the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Please make her welcome!

Then President Russ turned the meeting over to the Bath High School Interact Club. President Callie Anne Bowlin told us that members have made a difference in the community over the past year, volunteering their time for such groups and events as the West Ohio Food Bank, Spring & Main Festival, Flip the Switch, the Ottawa River Coalition's Good Friday Fish Fry and many more. Students who volunteer at least 24 hours during the year receive pins and patches. Callie Anne told us that the 43 students who joined us for Monday's meeting have volunteered a total of 1,800 hours in the past year! Following Callie Anne's presentation, students were presented their pins and patches and three senior members received $1,000 scholarships. Thank you for an outstanding year of providing Service Above Self!
