The Lima Rotary Club hosts the Allen Lima Youth Leadership graduation.
The Allen Lima Youth Leadership class of 2025 held its graduation ceremony at the Lima Rotary Club Monday. Allen Lima Youth Leadership, now in its 21st year, is a county and city wide youth leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors. The ALL Youth Leadership program actively involves, educates and challenges youth to reach their fullest potential as leaders. As part of the program, students divided into groups, identified a need they saw in the community, created presentations about how they would address those needs and presented those projects to the club during the meeting. The projects included improving mental health resources for teens, preventing substance abuse, helping alleviate poverty, turning food waste into compost, and placing more recycling bins in local schools. Club members voted on the projects and selected Soil Savers' proposal to place compost bins in local schools and compost food waste. The Soil Savers will receive $1,500 from the United Ways of Greater Lima to fund their project. Following the presentations, the students graduated from Allen Lima Youth Leadership. Congratulations to everyone on a great job!
