Cindy Wood announced over $6,000 in foundation grants to Family Promise, High Octane, Barbara Gives Bikes, and the Cheryl Allen Center.
An official club meeting was called into order, and the criteria for giving the $100,000 prize for our centennial was approved by the membership.
Our program was a detailed summary of the Columbus Bluejackets - their history in coming to Ohio, and the current state of the sport. Hockey is growing rapidly - especially in non traditional venues like California and Florida. The Bluejackets had a good season last year, but are plagued with injury this season, and have not been doing well. In this writer's opinion there are no better conditioned athletes in professional sports, as the speed of the game and finesse required is unmatched. Considering there are 82 regular season games - the most of any contact sport, these guys are really in shape.
