"Momentum Makers" guide Bluffton University.
Dr. Jane Wood became only the 10th President of Bluffton University in July and she told Lima Rotarians that she met with her cabinet this summer to come up with a short range plan to give the campus direction prior to the strategic planning process scheduled for fall of 2019. They identified nine Momentum Makers that represent what the university is already doing well in three areas: academics, athletics, and student engagement. She said they're excited to have recently broken ground on the new Knowlton Science Center. The $14.5 million building will open in 2020 and house labs, classrooms and offices.
Also at Monday's meeting, Elizabeth Brown-Ellis announced that the Lima Rotary Foundation has approved grants for ArtSpace/Lima, the Haiti Clean Water Project, and Shelter Boxes for Indonesia.
Mayor Berger attended the meeting and read a proclamation for World Polio Day and Rotarians were encouraged to donate to Polio Plus. Donation forms can be found under the Forms tab on our website. If the entire Lima Rotary Club can meet or exceed last year’s World Polio Day total of $4,473.00, Paul Swartz will contribute an additional $500.00.
