Allen County's Agriculture Hall of Fame honors local farmers.
The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce's Agriculture Committee started the Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2013 to honor and give public recognition to local farmers and ag professionals who have brought distinction to themselves, have made outstanding contributions to their professions, and whose community service has been a stimulus to others. Committee member Beth Seibert told us, "We wanted to draw distinction, we wanted to point out those folks who have made the agriculture industry in Allen County what it is and why it's so prominent." To date, there have been 39 inductees, including both individual farmers, businesses, and ag professionals who have made outstanding contributions, not just locally, but also on the state and national levels. Beth introduced us to each of the nominees and explained their contributions to agriculture, and she encouraged us to nominate someone for the 2026 hall of fame induction. The nomination form and details can be found at AllenAgHall.com. Nutrien is the sponsor of the Allen County Ag Hall of Fame.
Also at Monday's meeting, Michelle Steinke exchanged her red badge for her blue badge. Congratulations!
