The Allen Economic Development Group and Greater Lima Region are working together to grow our communities.
Two economic development groups are working collaboratively to improve our community, the Allen Economic Development Group and the Greater Lima Region. AEDG's mission is to create an environment for new business development, promote and nurture existing businesses, and facilitate the creation of new jobs in Allen County. GLR's mission is to stimulate economic and community development across the eight county Greater Lima Region. AEDG President and CEO Cindy Leis told us that their organization is business-focused: looking to attract new businesses, retain and grow existing businesses, and ensure that sites are ready for this growth. GLR President and CEO Dave Stratton says his organization works with the surrounding communities to make the entire region attractive to new businesses with efforts focused on workforce development, community development, downtown vibrancy, housing availability and more. Stratton says all these efforts will help to attract more people to the Greater Lima Region and retain those who live here now, giving us a stronger workforce.
They are proud that for the last three years, Site Selection magazine has ranked Lima 3rd in the nation for development in cities of similar size and that in the past five years, Allen County has had a $2 billion investment in completed and progressing projects. "We're proud of that. That tells us that some positive things are going on," says Stratton.
Also at Monday's meeting, we had our monthly raffle drawing and Adah Ellerbrock was this month's winner of $100. Congratulations!
