Rotarian Donna Krech shared an authentic personal perspective on business and a tribute to her late mother...

President Mike Schoenhofer called the meeting to order at 12:07 and brought David Runk up for the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.  Esther Baldridge led the members in the 4 Way Test.  Matt Otto reported 64 members in attendance last week during his Sergeant at Arms report and Larry Webb & Donna Krech’s guests were introduced.  We had Happy Dollars for fellowship.  It was announced that Esther is putting together a centennial committee to celebrate our club’s 100th anniversary next year.  If you want to help, please give Esther a call.  Mike told everyone that he is developing a committee to locally promote Rotary International’s cause of eradicating polio.  Jim Osmon is going to meet next weekwith members who have joined in the last two years to find out what they think about the club.  He is encouraging everyone to invite new members to join our group.

It was an emotional ride of tears and inspiration as Donna Krech told Rotarians her life story.  It was one year ago today that Donna’s mother died and she encouraged everyone to live their life to its fullest and pursue their dreams.  “Look at your life as the miracle it is, and put God first, family second and your career third.  Don’t just add years to your life, but life to your years.”  Donna also told the group that corporate wellness programs pay back from three times to seventeen times their original investment.  When employees eat right, exercise, stop smoking and drinking or doing drugs, companies “get higher productivity, less absenteeism, lower insurance rates, higher morale.  Your employees get along better and they want to perform better.”  Donna says that you should look at your company’s ROI not only in terms of dollars, but in terms of health and wellness as well.  Donna knows what she’s talking about.  Her fitness centers and wellness programs are in fifty countries and thirty seven states.  “That’s an amazing return on my mom’s investment.”
