President Russ Decker called the meeting to order at 11:35 A.M. with the following board members present: Russ Decker, Craig Kupferberg, Chip Bullock, Berlin Carroll, Jennifer Mason, Corey Frazer, Aaron McLaurine. Also, Secretary Anne Decker was present.

Attendance Report for February 2026
Five new members joined the club and no members resigned in February. February attendance was 41.144%. The month ended with 134 active members and 4 honorary members.

Annual Meeting
The Lima Rotary Club’s annual meeting is scheduled for April 20. New board members will be announced at that meeting and the club will recommend projects it wants to fund in the 2026-2027 year.

Joint Board Meeting
The annual joint meeting of the Lima Rotary Club and Lima Rotary Foundation boards of directors is scheduled for April 14 from 11:30-1:00 at Shawnee Country Club.

Annual Audit of Books

District 6600 Speech Competition
The Lima Rotary Club is hosting the Rotary District 6600 Speech Competition on April 11 at the Mercy Health GME building. Corey Frazer is chairing the local portion of the event.

Allen Lima Leadership Membership
Russ Decker spoke to the Allen Lima Leadership class on March 6 and welcomed them to join the Lima Rotary Club as the next step in their career. Any ALL member who joins the Lima Rotary Club within 24 months of graduating from ALL will receive a $100 per quarter discount on his/her dues for the first year. Also, ALL members are welcome to attend the Lima Rotary Club meeting on June 1 to learn more about the club.

Ride For MESA
The annual bike ride for MESA will have an overnight stop in Lima on June 20. Beth Seibert has agreed to chair the visit and has arranged a special rate for 12 rooms at Wingate by Wyndham for the riders. Seibert will address the club on March 16 to ask for donations for the hotel expenses.

Safety City Mini Pavilion Update
Students at Apollo Career Center are progressing well with the construction of the mini pavilion for Safety City. It will be erected this spring when the weather permits. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for June 15. The club will meet at the Red Cross that day and walk to Safety City for the ribbon cutting.

Past Presidents’ Luncheon
Russ Decker plans to reinstate the Past Presidents’ Luncheon which was held annually prior to COVID. He is looking to schedule a date for the luncheon in May.

Blood Clinic
The annual blood clinic is scheduled for May 9 from 6:30AM-9:30am at Senior Citizens Services. It is an opportunity for the public to receive low cost blood screenings from Lima Memorial Lab Services with the proceeds going to the Lima Rotary Foundation.

District 6600 Conference
The Rotary District 6600 Conference is April 25 and 25 at Sawmill Creek Resort. The club can assist with expenses for any club member interested in attending.

Social Committee
Kupferberg reported that the social committee would like to begin hosting monthly instead of quarterly socials. Tim Sielschott would like to donate $1,200 to a dedicated fund to pay for appetizers and other expenses related to the socials. Kupferberg stated that he would like to see half the socials be family-friendly events held on weekends. He will discuss this further with Sielschott.

Neither the club treasurer nor bookkeeper were in attendance at the meeting; as a result the treasurer’s report was tabled until the April 14 meeting.
A lengthy discussion was held about accounts receivable.
