Here are the highlights from the June 11th board meeting.
Call to Order Lesley Fry
President Lesley Fry called the meeting to order at 11:36 A.M. with the following board members present: Lesley Fry, Demi Burden, Richard Warren, Tim Stanford, Elizabeth Brown-Ellis and Jeff Unterbrink. Also, Treasurer Tracey Regula, Secretary Anne Decker, bookkeeper Amy Ricker, and incoming board members Corey Frazer and Craig Kupferberg were present.

Approval of the May 14, 2024 Joint Board Meeting Minutes
Regula made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 14, 2024 joint board meeting as submitted. Brown-Ellis seconded the motion. Board approved.
Attendance Report for May 2024
No new members joined the club and three members resigned in May. May attendance was 37.189%. The month ended with 147 active members and 2 honorary members.

Rotary Night at the Lima Locos
Rotary Night at the Lima Locos is June 19. The club had 50 tickets as part of its sponsorship and all 50 were given out at the June 3 meeting. Cat Sarno is providing another 20 tickets which will be available at the June 17th meeting.

Changing of the Guard
Changing of the Guard is July 1 at the City Club. Mary Elmquist-Lane is taking reservations.
Closing Out Corporate Memberships
The Lima Rotary Club will no longer offer corporate memberships after June 30, 2024. Fry will meet with Ricker prior to that date to determine the procedure for converting current corporate members to individual members.

Venmo Fees
Ricker informed the board that Venmo has begun charging transaction fees. Some members of the club pay their dues and other expenses with Venmo.

Surety Bond Invoice
The Lima Rotary Club has a surety bond through Webb Insurance that covers club members up to $5,000. The premium is $160 for three years. Stanford made a motion to continue the surety bond and pay the invoice. Regula seconded the motion. Board approved.

Books For Lima Public Library
The club donates books to the children’s department of the Lima Public Library in the names of its guest speakers. There are only 11 books left in the current allocation. Unterbrink made a motion to donate $500 to the Lima Public Library to pay for more books. Warren seconded the motion. Board approved.

Pickleball Tournament
Burden reported that plans continue to be made for the club to host a pickleball tournament this fall as a fundraiser. The committee is meeting on June 17.

Unterbrink reported that four major sponsors have been secured for the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing on August 21. Additional sponsors, teams and hole sponsors are being sought.

Holiday Home Tour
Burden announced that one more home is being sought for the Holiday Home Tour on December 1, 2024.

Treasurer’s Report Tracey Regula
Regula shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through May 31, 2024 is $111,933.32. Total expenses are $103,294.26. Net income is $8,639.06. Brown-Ellis moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Unterbrink seconded the motion. Board approved.
