Here are the highlights from the February 11, 2025 board meeting.
Call to Order                                                                                                               Demi Burden
President Demi Burden called the meeting to order at 11:36 A.M. with the following board members present: Demi Burden, Russ Decker, Craig Kupferberg, Aaron McLaurine, Richard Warren, Tim Stanford. Also, Secretary Anne Decker was present.
 
Secretary’s Report                                                                                                     Anne Decker
Approval of the January 14, 2025 Board Meeting Minutes
Kupferberg made a motion to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2025 board meeting. McLaurine seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Attendance Report for January 2025
One new members joined the club and two members resigned in January. January attendance was 41.944%. The month ended with 146 active members and 3 honorary members.     
 
President’s Report                                                                                                     Demi Burden
Board Candidates
The Lima Rotary Club approved the ballot for the 2025-2026 boards of directors for the Lima Rotary Club and Lima Rotary Foundation. The Foundation had previously submitted their candidates. Anne Decker will have the ballots printed and mailed. The deadline to return ballots is April 4, 2025.
 
Annual Audit of Books
The annual audit of the club’s books is scheduled for March 7, 2025. Demi Burden, Carol Buetner, Andy Farley, Jim Osmon, Amy Ricker and possibly Tracey Regula will perform the audit and report back to the board.
 
District Governor’s Call For Legislative Meeting
District 6600 Governor Tim Ryan has called a legislative meeting for February 22, 2025 on Zoom to discuss what should happen with the district’s $83,000 surplus from 2024. Ryan and the majority of the district’s clubs think the money should be returned to the clubs. The District 6600 Finance Committee wants the district to keep it. At the meeting, clubs will be able to vote on the dispensation of the funds. The Lima Rotary Club has six votes, based on our number of members. Burden will determine who will participate in the call. The board decided at its January 14, 2025 meeting to request that the funds be returned to the clubs.
 
Joint Board Meeting
The joint meeting of the Lima Rotary Club and Lima Rotary Foundation boards of directors is scheduled for April 8, 2025 at 11:30 at The Met. Anne Decker will contact Foundation President Berlin Carroll and ask him to notify the Foundation members.
 
Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Lima Rotary Club has been scheduled for April 14 at 11:45 at the Civic Center.
 
Rotary Night at the Locos
The board has decided to sponsor a Rotary Night at the Locos at the $150 level. We will receive 50 tickets for our donation and the club’s logo will be included on the Locos’ donation banner. The date of Rotary Night will be determined at a later time.
 
Blood Clinic
The 2025 Blood Clinic has been scheduled for May 3 at Senior Citizens Services from 6:30-9:30am. Volunteers are needed for the event.
 
Beer Barrel Fundraiser
Beer Barrel Pizza has offered to hold a fundraiser for the Lima Rotary Club in which the club would encourage its members and supporters to eat at Beer Barrel on a certain day and the club would receive a 20% donation of the total amount of the club supporters’ receipts on that day. Burden asked if they will make the offer available after the first of the year. Burden will try to schedule this in March.

There were no reports from board members.
 
Treasurer’s Report                                                                                                     Demi Burden          
Burden shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through January 31, 2025 is $84,342.26. Total expenses are $72,180.93. Net income is $12,161.33.
Kupferberg made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report. McLaurine seconded the motion. Board approved.

New Member Applications
A new member application was received from Josh Mangini, Realtor with Superior Plus Realtors.
Requests for reinstatement of membership were received from Julie Bassitt and Georgiana Saffle. Kupferberg made a motion to approve the application and the reinstatements. McLaurine seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Resignations
McLaurine made a motion to approve the resignation of Jed Metzger with regret. Kupferberg seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Motion To Adjourn
McLaurine made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Kupferberg seconded the motion. Board approved. Burden adjourned the meeting at 12:12 P.M.
